The Belle Mead Friends of Music will hold their second meeting of the season on Sunday, November 5, at 2:30 p.m., at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Princeton, 50 Cherry Hill Rd., Princeton.
The program will include internationally-known concert pianist Mina Hirobe-Perry who will play music of Messiaen and music in memory of Messiaen. She will also play part of Schumann’s Carnaval, Opus 9.
Also on the program, teacher and pianist Richard Woo will play music of Bach and Debussy. Susan Spevak, flutist, and pianist Martin Stepper will play music of Griffes. Clarinetist David Millrod will play music of Rózsa.
The Belle Mead Friends of Music was founded over 50 years ago by three musician friends living in Belle Mead: Barbara Barstow, Rita Asch, and Marilyn London. They wanted to bring amateur and professional musicians together to perform for and listen to each other in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
The afternoon musicale is open to the public, and donations are welcome. For more information, contact Lew Coopersmith. coopersmith@rider.edu.
