When you fall in love, it is difficult to realize and accept that the relationship is toxic; the saddest thing of all is that there are even “recipes,” like penny dating, to fall in love with someone and take advantage of it.
Recently, a video went viral on TikTok, where a young woman exposes a method that many men have resorted to to manipulate their partner. This tactic is known as “penny dating,” and according to experts, it is the most famous and sickening in the year, but what is it about, and why does it affect mainly women?
What Is the “Penny Dating” Method?
The young woman explained that this method consists of treating the investment in a relationship as deposits in a piggy bank. That is, a man gives 100 percent during the courtship, but when he gets what he wants, he diminishes all interest, to the point of making the woman feel the luckiest by receiving the minimum effort.
The TikToker said that she learned about this from a friend, who confessed that many men know this way of making women fall in love with very little, but being the “best person at the beginning of the relationship”.
Her friend explained that men imagine that a woman is like a piggy bank, and as they need it, they adjust their investments. “To get her interested, obviously at first, you have to give her hundred dollar bills. Now this is where she gets sick,” she said cheekily.
Worst of all, women cannot benefit in any way from this destructive method; on the contrary, their self-esteem is considerably affected, as they forget their value as a person. The man will reduce the amount of attention he pays to the woman, before releasing a little more to keep her safe. However, this is momentary, as the effort and interest will diminish considerably.
@erikatham you learn something new everyday 🙃🙃🙃 #lovebombing #dating #boymath
Let’s say “after making a 100 percent investment at the beginning of a relationship and getting her attention, a man reduces his investment to 90 percent. The next thing you have to do is bring it back up to 95, so instead of feeling like they’ve lost 5, suddenly she feels like she’s gained 5,” the young woman’s friend explained.
“You keep repeating this cycle, and you keep pushing her away from your effort until you get to the point where you’re giving her a few cents, and all of a sudden she’s excited to get a nickel,” he added.
After learning more about “penny dating,” the TikToker asked her followers to pay attention to their partner’s actions, since, without realizing it, they could be victims of this “psychological manipulation,” as described by several young women who watched the video.
“Never accept bills of less than $100,” the influencer stressed with great concern. Undoubtedly, this is the best time to open your eyes. It is difficult to accept that something is not right when we fall in love, but it is important to recognize the red flags in order not to end up destroyed.
