There are some red flags I think we can all agree upon. If they’re rude to waiters, wear basketball shorts in freezing weather, or have a lot of “crazy” exes … you’re in danger, girl. I think we should add a new one to that list courtesy of Olivia Rodrigo. In a recent Netflix promotional video, the singer debuted a spectacular take: Men wanting to go to space is a red flag. I’m leaning forward, listening, learning.
“This is a very oddly specific question that I ask guys on first dates. I always ask them if they think that they would want to go to space. And if they say ‘yes,’ I don’t date them,” Rodrigo explains. “I just think if you wanna go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself. I think it’s just weird.”
She’s got a point there. Think about some of our most famous “wants to go to space” guys. Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk, and the mega-rich weirdos who can seriously consider space tourism. Those guys are full of themselves, and they don’t exactly have sterling reputations as romantic partners. In fact, Grimes — Musk’s ex-partner and mother to three of his children — entered the chat to add her own two cents.
Well, she would know!
I’m banging my gavel and making it official: Wanting to go to space is officially in the red-flag canon. Please come prepared for our next meeting, where we’ll be discussing guys who know a lot about astrology.
