The 2024 Paris Olympic Games have had more drama than we could have ever expected. From celebrated victories and tearful losses, to epic rivalries and even surprise engagements, it’s been a whirlwind of sporting achievements, romance, and of course, those cardboard beds.
Whilst we’ve spent countless hours in awe of the athlete’s sporting greatness, we also couldn’t help but notice the competitor’s small declarations of self-expression through beauty and fashion. Experimenting with hair, makeup and everything in between, is an opportunity for these sporting greats to give us a little extra peek into their personalities – and we’re all for it. So, we’ve been keeping tabs to bring you our gold-medal winning looks, because, let’s be honest, we’re not going to be breaking any world records with our backflips here at Cosmo HQ.
Best Olympic Beauty Moments
Keely Hodgkinson
Keely’s purple nails, carefully curated by @sylviemacmillan.nails, was a collaboration with Nike and included motifs dedicated to the Goddess of Victory. It seems only right then that GB’s golden girl secured her 800m win in style.
Noah Lyles
Noah Lyles, AKA the world’s fastest man, has become famed for his high-energy persona, so it’s no surprise we see this eccentric flair reflected in his colourful manicure.
Simone Biles
Simone recently clued us up on her makeup routine, including the name of her fave primer, so of course, the GOAT is also religious about using Fenty Beauty, the other GOAT in our lives.
Louie Hinchliffe
Hinchliffe has become the poster boy for mullet-lovers everywhere. The ex-Sheffield uni student narrowly missed qualifying for the men’s 100m final, although at just 22 there’s no doubt he’ll be back with a bang at the next Olympics, and who knows what hairstyle he’ll be rocking then.
Molly Caudrey
Giving major Harley Quinn energy, Caudrey’s Y2K pigtails are a serious serve. Complete with money-piece bangs Caudrey may not have won gold in the pole vault, but her golden locks will be the next picture you show to your hairdresser.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh
Yaroslava’s patriotic cat-eye wasn’t the only thing the high-jumper did that caught the crowd’s attention during the final of her event. The Ukrainian athlete would slip into a sleeping bag and even close her eyes between each jump, now that’s some serious sleepy-girl energy we can get behind.
Shirine Boukli
Shirine Boukli, French Judo olympian added a touch of bling to her pearly whites, complementing her new bronze medal. Hands up, who remembers their PE teacher making them take out their ear studs (yeah, us too), I bet they never considered tooth gems…
Morgan Lake
GB’s high jumper puts Hailey Bieber’s glazed doughnut nails to shame. Her perfectly manicured, almond set marries a classic colourway and vibrant texture with small gems featuring on a few fingertips.
Sha’carri Richardson
Sha’carri’s nails have well and truly earned their place in the beauty history books. Her long talons have become part and parcel of the track and field athlete’s brand. From heavy bejewelled nails to majorly patriotic colourways, you can be sure Richardson will have a full set we could only dream of recreating.
