Women’s track and field wins 7 events in Hamilton outdoor meet
CLINTON, N.Y. — Hamilton College track and field athletes took first place in seven events in the multi-divisional, non-team scoring Hamilton Outdoor Invitational at Pritchard Track on Saturday, March 30.
Six Continentals qualified for the 2024 All-Atlantic Region Track & Field Conference (AARTFC) Outdoor Championships in four events. Hamilton competes in Utica University’s Pioneer Spring Invitational on Saturday, April 6.
Kylie Oblak ’24 finished first and qualified for the AARTFC championships in the women’s 10,000-meter run with a time of 38:56.01. Betsy Overstrum ’24 won the 3,000-meter steeplechase and qualified for the AARTFC meet in 11:45.31.
Hannah Turner ’26 was part of two event victories and two AARTFC qualifiers. Turner posted a personal-record time of 1:05.89 in the 400-meter hurdles and was part of a 4×400-meter relay that finished in 4:07.89. Claire Tratnyek ’26, Kate Scibelli ’26 and Alexa Thomas ’27 joined Turner on that relay.
Tratnyek finished first in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:01.64, Scibelli topped 23 athletes in the 800-meter run in 2:21.49, and Dana Schwartz ’26 captured first place in the javelin throw with a distance of 30.37 meters (99 feet, 8 inches).
